Work has started on a £250,000 water main upgrade scheme in Dewsbury, Kirklees.
The two-phase project in Lees Hall Road will reduce the risk of sewer flooding in the area.
To deliver the scheme, Lees Hall Road between Ouzelwell Lane and Eyre Street has been shut for around five months to vehicular traffic. Signed diversions will be in place.
Yorkshire Water's Communications Advisor Mark Allsop, said: "We'll do everything we can to keep disruption to a minimum and complete this work to reduce sewer flooding as quickly as possible. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. We'd like to thank residents and motorists in advance for their patience."
