Lambson's Hire, a leading South African equipment rental organisation, has strengthened their hire fleet with the purchase of eight Trime X-ECO LED lighting towers from Mayday Equipment who are the official South Africa distributors for Trime. The balance of the first container ordered will be for stock purposes to introduce the LED lighting towers to the South African market.
Following the lead outlined in the South African Government initiative, The Green Economy Accord, Lambson's Hire opted for the Trime X-ECO LED principally because of their positive environmental qualities. With sustainability at the core of its development, Trime have calculated that the X-ECO LED uses approximately £336.00 (R5890.00) less in fuel each month, when compared to a traditionally illuminated lighting set.
This equates to a reduction in CO2 emissions per month from 1224 kg to just 336 kg, meaning an overall monthly decrease of 888 kg.
The order was placed by Rohan Lambson, founder and owner of Lambson's Hire. Rohan is a regular visitor to the UK hire exhibitions and takes a keen interest in product development.
Commenting on this order, Rohan said: "In November 2010, our New Growth Path called for an economy that is more inclusive and environmentally sustainable. With this in mind we began shifting our focus to seek out more sustainable equipment. In our opinion the X-ECO LED sets are at the forefront of delivering environmental benefits without comprising quality or lighting intensity."
The lighting towers will be shipped to Mayday Equipment in Airport Park, Germiston and fitted onto locally manufactured four-wheeled trailers, a common requirement for the mining industry.
Lambson's Hire first opened in 1980 when founder and owner, Rohan Lambson, set up in Orange Grove. Having had experience in equipment hire in Australia, Rohan identified a similar need in South Africa; eventually building the business into one of the largest rental organisation in the region. The company hires a large range of mechanical and non-mechanical equipment to both industry and the general public. Aside from their fourteen individual outlets, Lambson's Hire has two specialist divisions - Compact Plant and Concrete Surface Preparation.
The Trime Group has over 50 years of experience in the development and marketing of environmentally sustainable lighting sets for the construction and rental markets. Trime UK is headquartered in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire; their manufacturing plant is based near Milan, Italy.
