Work is to begin on a £6.5 million electricity modernisation project in Liverpool.
SP Energy Networks will begin working in Edge Lane from 8pm on Friday, 10 August until 6am on Monday, 13 August. Traffic management will be in place during the project.
Since May, the company has been working to replace over 5.5km of 132,000 volt cable between Lister Drive to Wavertree.
Overall, the planned work will benefit local communities, reinforcing supplies for the existing 70,000 homes and businesses connected to the network, as well as facilitating future growth for decades to come.
Mark Sobczak at SP Energy Networks, said: "We apologise for any inconvenience that will be experienced during this upgrade project. Over the weekend in Edge Lane our team will be working hard to complete the job as quickly as possible and keep inconvenience to a minimum.
"Overall this project will support today’s customers in Liverpool as well building a network for the future. As we shift to electric transport with more people owning their own electric cars, and the electrification of other sectors like heating, it will be vital that major cities like Liverpool have a robust and modern electricity network capable of supporting increased demands."
