Vital Energi To Begin Work On Leeds PIPES District Heating Network

Vital Energi is to begin work to install new piping for a district heating network in Leeds.

Pipes will be installed on Marsh Lane to carry heat from the Recycling and Energy Recovery Facility (RERF), which will provide hot water for heating in local households and businesses in east Leeds.

To carry out the scheme, Marsh Lane will be closed northbound from 8pm today, 27 July until 5am on Sunday, 29 July.

Once finished, the Leeds PIPES network scheme will connect 1,983 council homes and numerous businesses around the city centre to the heat network, providing low carbon heat and hot water.

The project has received investment from the West Yorkshire Combined Authority and Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP) through the Leeds City Region Growth Deal – a £1 billion package of government investment to accelerate growth and create jobs across Leeds City Region
