Lovell has been chosen to deliver a £45 million regeneration programme the heart of South Hatfield in Hertfordshire.

The scheme involves redeveloping the High View neighbourhood centre and nearby Hollyfield former garage site to deliver a mix of new shops and around 150 new homes for local people. Pending planning approval, construction work on the first phase is expected to start in summer 2019.

Lovell said it hopes to submit a planning application for the first phase of work towards the end of this year.

Cllr Bernard Sarson, Executive Member for Regeneration at Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council, said: "A lot is already happening to make Hatfield a more attractive place for shoppers, residents and retailers, and it's great to see this programme making progress which will help to improve the neighbourhood with brand new shops and housing, including affordable homes.

"This is a key site for the town's regeneration plans, and I would encourage residents to get involved and come along to the exhibitions, and have their say to help shape the future of High View."
