Colas has announced Carl Fergusson is to become its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Mr Fergusson will take over from Lee Rushbrooke, who is stepping down in September following seven years in charge.
Mr Fergusson has spent 30 years at Colas and recently led an 18-month strategic review of the company which aims to reposition Colas in the marketplace.
Speaking on his new position, he said: "I am pleased to be leading the ongoing transformation of Colas Ltd and look forward to implementing our growth plans which will draw upon the strength of the International Colas Group and bring greater value to our customers through improved productivity, efficiency and our reputation for innovation."
Mr Rushbrooke added: "I have had 32 enjoyable years with my career at Colas Ltd with my various roles from trainee through to CEO. The Company has seen significant change over the years and is now ready to implement and deliver against our new strategy.
"Aligned to the Group One Colas Strategy and DGI Route 22 roadmap, the future plans for our business in the UK & overseas are strong. We have the full support from our shareholder for our ambitious growth aspirations as we position ourselves to capitalise on the significant infrastructure investment promised over the next 5 years."
