Wates has appointed Group Managing Director, Paul Chandler, to the company's Board.

Having joined Wates as Group MD of Construction in January last year, Mr Chandler has overseen the continuing growth of the division, which delivered increased profits and a turnover approaching £1 billion.

Mr Chandler joins the Board with immediate effect and will also sit on the company's Executive Committee.

James Wates CBE, Chairman, said: "Paul has made a real impact since joining us at the start of 2017. Speaking on his appointment, Mr Chandler said: "I am delighted to be joining the Wates Group Board and look forward to helping it lead the next phase of the organisation's development."
