Work is underway to lay a new water pipe on Beckwith Road in Harrowgate.
Yorkshire Water is carrying out the second phase of work between Otley Road and Pannal Ash roundabout. The new water pipe will improve water quality.
To carry out the scheme, a rolling road closure is in place between Otley Road and Pannal Ash roundabout as work progresses. Signed diversions will also be in place for around nine weeks.
Mark Allsop, Communications Sdvisor at Yorkshire Water, said: "A rolling road closure will cause less traffic disruption than a full road closure and will also enable us to complete the work faster and enable Highways to resurface Beckwith Road in the summer. We'll still be working seven days a week to complete this scheme as soon as possible and our normal working hours will be 8am until 5pm.
"Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout this phase of work. Refuse collections won't be affected so we ask residents to continue putting your bins out as normal. We'd like to thanks resident and motorists for their patience whilst we carry out this vital work."
