Work is continuing on a railway upgrade project Liverpool Lime Street station.
Network Rail is delivering the scheme as part of its £340 million investment in the Liverpool City Region, which sits within the Great North Rail Project.
To carry out improvement works at Liverpool Lime Street, the station is now closed until 29 July.
During the works engineers will be remodelling station platforms, increasing them in number and in length. Overhead line equipment will also be installed/renewed to power electric trains and changes will be made to provide extra services.
The scheme forms the last major phase of the upgrade programme. Once complete in October, passengers will be able to enjoy three new services per hour, including new direct services to Scotland, more reliable services, safer, wider platforms and a re-modelled concourse.
