Galliford Try has won a £67 million contract to design and build a new smart motorway scheme near Manchester Airport.
The company will develop a new smart motorway between junctions 6 and 8 to the west of the airport, with works including upgrading pavements, barriers and drainage as well as installation of gantries, emergency refuge areas and technical equipment.
Work is scheduled to begin next spring, with completion set for the following year.
