Gleeds Opens New Milton Keynes Office

Gleeds has announced the opening of a new office in Milton Keynes.

The new premises on Midsummer Boulevard will be manned by six full-time staff including new recruit Dave Stewart, who joins Gleeds as a Drector of Project Management from LendLease Consulting.

Gleeds said the move follows the business securing a number of high profile developmenets in the area, including a luxury 250 bed hotel on Marlborough Gate for a prominent British operator, on which it will act as project and cost manager.

In addition, the business is working alongside YourMK, a joint venture between Milton Keynes Council and the private sector, to refurbish and build homes across the region, as well as securing several schemes for the Coventry-based Manufacturing Technology Centre.

The consultancy has also been named as lead consultant on a number of projects for Milton Keynes Council as part of the Perfect Circle consortium. The £52m worth of capital development to the west of the town includes a new build secondary school, a purpose built health centre, a primary school expansion programme and a multi-storey car park at the railway station.

James Marshall, Director of Gleeds heading up the new Milton Keynes operation, said: "The opening of the Cambridge - Milton Keynes - Oxford corridor has the potential to cement the region's position as the UK's equivalent to Silicon Valley.

"The new rail link between the three locations is due for completion in 2023, with a huge population increase expected and extremely strong economic growth forecast for Milton Keynes specifically. This is an exciting time for both the business and the region."
