Lovell Continues Work On £250m Salisbury Plain Housing Programme

Lovell is continuing work on a £250 million homebuilding programme on Salisbury Plain in South Wiltshire.

The scheme is part of the Army Basing Programme (ABP) and involves creating more than 900 new homes for troops and their families relocating from Germany to Bulford, Larkhill and Ludgershall.

Lovell is now working to build 225 of the homes at Bulford with roads and sewers substantially progressed, a third of foundations already laid and work now beginning on the timber frame installations.

Lieutenant General Nick Pope CBE, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, and John Leary, Lovell Major Projects Director, recently unveiled a commemorative plaque at the Bulford site to mark the milestone.

Mark Duddy, ABP programme director, said: "I am really impressed with the speed of delivery and the amount of progress that has been made since the contract was signed in November; we remain firmly on track to deliver the required new homes to enable the units to return from Germany in 2019."

Lovell Major Projects Director, John Leary, said: "Our team were delighted to host the event to mark the commencement of superstructure works on the Salisbury Plain Training Area scheme and honoured to welcome Lieutenant General Nick Pope CBE to view progress and unveil our commemorative stone.

"We look forward to continuing to work closely with the Army Basing Programme and our supply chain partners to ensure the timely delivery of these high-quality homes for our Service families."
