A milestone has been reached at Bristol Airport's new £4.3 million fire station.

Building contractor R&M Williams, along with its project team, have topped out the structural steelwork at the new facility and the development is on schedule to progress over the coming months.

Located next to the runway and the existing training ground, the new station will replace the existing fire station built elsewhere on the site in the 1980s and has been designed to accommodate future growth of Bristol Airport.

Darryn Parry, Managing Director of R&M Williams, said: "We are really excited to be working with the airport on this state of the art project. It is particularly challenging for us as we have had to work within the confines of a secure and constantly working environment and build a modern and pivotal part of the airport infrastructure.

It is great to see the building's steel frame work being finished so that the next important stage of the build can start. I can't wait to see it progress over the coming months."
