Skanska has secured a £141 million contract to deliver a new mixed-use scheme in London.
The contractor has signed a deal with the Olayan Group to deliver the 31,600 sq m K1 Knightsbridge project, which will create new high-end retail and office space, as well as 35 residential units and a new rooftop restaurant, in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
A key feature of the scheme is retaining the site's historic facades, as well as modernising the building while maintaining the neighbourhood's architectural character. Step-free access to Knightsbridge underground station will be created via a new entrance.
Construction on the project got underway in April and completion is scheduled for the end of 2020.
