Construction work has started on a new £19 million student accommodation scheme in Sheffield.
Clegg Construction is delivering the 324-bed Steel City scheme in the city's St Vincent's Quarter on behalf of client Future Generation.
Designed by Axis Architecture, the new development will be located on Hollis Croft close to the University of Sheffield's School of Engineering.
Features include refurbishing a Grade II Listed 'little mesters' former metals trades workshops to create a selection of en-suite rooms, studios and one and two bedroom duplex apartments.
Other facilities will include reception, laundry, security office, cinema room and rooftop terrace with café bar.
Simon Blackburn, Clegg Construction Managing Director, said: "This is one of the biggest projects we have worked on in recent years and it is testament to the reputation we have built in delivering high quality student accommodation developments across the UK."
The project is scheduled for completion in time for the 2019/2020 academic year.
