Vital Energi has won a £5.6 million contract to supply, install and commission an energy centre for a residential development at Battersea, London.

The company will provide the combined heat and power facility for St William Homes' 955-apartment scheme at Prince of Wales Drive, spread over 12 blocks along with low temperature hot water and chilled water systems.

Vital Energi will be completing the co-ordination of a design by engineering firm Max Fordham. The basement energy centre will include a combined heat and power engine, two 1300kw gas boilers, and four 550kw chillers.

The Prince of Wales Drive scheme is one of the first projects to be delivered by St William, a joint venture (JV) between Berkeley Group and National Grid.
