ES-SO To Hold Solar Shading Workshop

A free workshop is being held by the European Solar Shading Organisation (ES-SO) next month in Northern Ireland.

The event will take place from 4.30pm – 6.30pm at the Slieve Donard Hotel in Newcastle, Co Down on 19 April.

The workshop will examine key areas of interest relating to the design of low energy buildings and how solar shading contributes to energy saving, from both a scientific and a technical point of view.

The British Blind and Shutter Association (BBSA) have supported ES-SO in organising the event, which will bring together the leading international experts in the solar shading industry for two hours.

Solar shading is an important industry in Europe that is valued in excess of £15 billion per annum and employs 400,000 people.

Thought-provoking presentations, with opportunity for discussion, will take place surrounding topics such as mitigation of overheating in buildings, solar shading & Passive House building designs and life cycle assessment, amongst several others.

The presentation will be followed by the opportunity to meet and network with the key note speakers and international experts.

Admission is free, but places need to be pre-booked with cath@bbsa.org.uk.
