Work On £4m Royal Mail Depot In Middlesex Complete

Work on a new £4 million Royal Mail distribution depot in Middlesex is now complete.

The 40,000 sq ft facility has been built by Morgan Sindall in Greenford on behalf of developers Lothbury Property Trust.

The warehouse unit will be used as a postal sorting base, with the steel portal-frame building containing an innovative Euroclad, built-up standing seam roof system with composite wall panels and barrel vault roof lights.

Features include three flood-lit external car parks with capacity for 128 operational vehicles and 36 staff vehicles. The warehouse is also partially powered by photovoltaic panels and the project is targeting a Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) rating of Excellent.

Sean Bradley, managing director of Morgan Sindall's London and Home Counties region, said: "We're pleased to have successfully delivered this key distribution depot. Our project team worked closely with Lothbury Property Trust Ltd on this development which will act as a nerve centre for Royal Mail postal services in London."
