BGIS Pulls Out Of Carillion FM Contracts Deal

Canadian facility management services provider, Brookfield Global Integrated Solutions (BGIS), has pulled out of a deal to purchase a number of public sector contracts from collapsed industry services firm, Carillion.

BGIS had originally brokered a deal last month with the Special Manager for the Official Receiver to acquire a portfolio of Carillion facility management (FM) contracts in the United Kingdom.

However, the company has announced certain closing conditions have not been met, resulting in 2,500 FM jobs now being put at risk.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Gord Hicks said: "While we are disappointed at this outcome, we are continuing to pursue opportunities to grow our global business into the U.K. and welcome continued dialogue with prospective customers as we build out our platform for future growth opportunities."
