Sewer Investigation Works To Begin In Ackworth, Wakefield

Sewer investigation works are to be carried out in the Bell Lane area of Ackworth, Wakefield.

Yorkshire Water is carrying out the survey in order to help reduce the risk of sewer flooding in the area.

The works involve the digging of several trial holes in the highway. For safety reasons, the road for vehicles between Moor Top Avenue and Hardaker's Lane will be closed for two weeks from Monday, 12 March. Diversions will be in place.

Communications Advisor, Mark Allsop, said: "We’ve liaised with the Highways Department and in order to carry out this work safely we’ll need to close this section of the road. We'd like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank everyone in advance for their patience whilst this work takes place. Please be assured we'll do everything we can to keep disruption to a minimum and complete the work as quickly as possible.”
