Work is continuing on a new £7 million care home in Lichfield, Staffordshire.
'The Spires' is being delivered for Barchester Healthcare by Manchester-based McGoff Construction and completion is scheduled for this summer.
The 70-bed scheme will create around 100 jobs and provide high-quality care services for older people and people living with dementia.
In addition, McGoff are working with Barchester Healthcare on a second £8 million scheme located on Pevensey Bay Road in Eastbourne. The project involves demolishing an existing derelict 120 bed nursing home and development of a new state-of-the-art 80-bed care facility. Tree protection works have now commenced on site with demolition due to start later this month.
McGoff Divisional Construction Director, Chris Backhouse, said: "Our ethos is heavily geared towards fostering long term, partnered relationships with our clients. We are delighted to be building a strong, synergetic partnership with Barchester Healthcare, working closely with them at all stages of the development process to support the successful delivery of their extensive new build programme."
Mark Bennett, Property Director of Barchester: "We are pleased to be working with McGoff Construction on our new Lichfield site and have benefitted from their previous experience of new build construction in the sector. The Spires marks the start of an ambitious new build programme for Barchester and strong partnerships will play an important part in that programme delivery. We look forward to opening the home and welcoming the local community."
