Keepmoat Homes has started work on a new £27 million housing development in County Durham.
A total of 190 units are being developed at Parkhill in Coxhoe.
It is forecasted up to 30,000 new homes will be needed in County Durham by 2033.
Keepmoat said the development will bring new opportunities to local communities, with colleagues working with Coxhoe Primary School on a poster project as well as exploring the possibility of taking apprentices on site.
Richard Bass, Regional Managing Director for Keepmoat Homes in the North East, said: "We are excited to be starting work at Parkhill. The area is great for families and first-time buyers, as it is close to all of the facilities in Coxhoe and easily commutable to Durham and Tyneside."
