Work on a £2.6 million school expansion project in Wiltshire is now complete.

The scheme at Old Sarum Primary School was delivered by Morgan Sindall as part of the local authority's £93 million three-year school places investment programme.

The project has included the creation of a two-storey steel frame building which now houses seven new classrooms and a studio. In addition, the scheme allows the school to go from a one form to a two form entry facility for 420 pupils, with other features including additional playground areas, car parking and a drop off zone at the south end of the school.

Jon Daines, Area Director at Morgan Sindall, said: "We're delighted to have successfully delivered this major scheme, which will enable Old Sarum Primary School to double its intake - alleviating the pressure driven by demand for primary school places in Salisbury and creating a light and bright learning and teaching environment for all school users."

John Jones, Headteacher at Old Sarum Primary School, said: "We are very proud of the wonderful new facilities that our children are enjoying. The new classrooms, studio and tech room are loved by the children and allow us to enrich the curriculum."
