Wates has strengthened its senior team by appointing Richard Shroll as Managing Director of its Residential business in the North.

The move follows a recent internal restructure of the business, which saw Wates Residential North move into Wates Construction Group.

Mr Shroll joined the company in 1989 and has gained experience on a variety of projects in the commercial, education and residential sectors. Recently, he has held a number of senior leadership roles within the group, the most recent being Group Construction Director.

He replaces Joanne Jamieson, who has left the business to pursue new opportunities. Elsewhere, Chris Brittain has been appointed as the new Commercial Director, reporting directly to Mr Shroll. He was formerly Regional Commercial Director for Wates Construction North.

Paul Chandler, Group Managing Director for Wates, said: "Richard will bring his extensive leadership experience to this business after a long and successful career with Wates.
