Artificial turf sports pitch installers Synthetic Turf Management (STM) have been at Redditch Hockey Club this Autumn renovating the old and outdated hockey pitch with artificial grass.
And it was just at the beginning of the month that the Redditch's Badgers XI hockey team, captained by Paul Cowley, played their first home game on the new surface.
Hockey Pitch Installation
Since the 2016 Olympics, were the bright hockey surface captured the nation, artificial/synthetic grass has been more widely used for the sport. STM used an all-weather hockey product guaranteed for 30,000 playing hours to last the club for many years to come.
The 6,000-square metre pitch was installed on top of a 10mm rubber padding underlay and coupled with white and blue line markings which are cut with the utmost precision by professional installers.
STM commented: "The pitch was in desperate need of a full resurface. It simply wasn't performing to the best standard and in time, could prevent players performing to the best of their ability. Now the club has access to a surface which is durable, all-weather, low maintenance and suitable for all ages and abilities. The club were thrilled with their install and we wish them every success in the future."
