Wates Living Space has been appointed to Cardiff Council's Framework for the Provision of Domestic Building Maintenance Services.
The four-year deal is valued at around £3 million and will see the company deliver housing improvements to 4,200 properties across the north of the city.
Features include the delivery of various maintenance services including responsive repairs, minor planned works and vacant repairs.
David Morgan, Managing Director of Wates Living Space, said: "Being appointed to this framework is of strategic importance to our business, and we are fully committed to making a positive social and economic impact on the local communities and surrounding areas in which we will be working.
"We pride ourselves on not only delivering an exceptional service but also creating a legacy for local people through real employment opportunities, training and investment in social enterprises and local supply chain partners.
"We are very much looking forward to starting works in the New Year and developing our partnership with Cardiff Council to deliver its aspirations for the improvement of housing stock across the city."
Elsewhere in Cardiff, Wates is delivering 292 homes for the council's Cardiff Living house building programme, which will see 1,500 homes built across 40 sites.
In addition, the company is delivering a £2.9m roofing works contract across 193 properties in Caerau and Rumney on behalf of the local authority.
Cllr Lynda Thorne said: "Building on our existing partnership in the Cardiff Living scheme, we’re happy to be working with Wates Living Space as one of the maintenance providers for our housing stock over the next four years, ensuring we have good quality homes that meet the needs of our tenants."
