Plans have been unveiled to build London's largest film studios and media complex in Dagenham.
Be First, Barking and Dagenham Council's urban regeneration company, has announced it is searching for investors, entrepreneurs and businesses to help deliver the facility on a 20 acres of former industrial land in East London.
A feasibility study on the possibility of studios at Dagenham East revealed the studio could create around 780 jobs and generate £35 million a year to the UK economy.
As well as securing a site for large film and TV stage sets and workshops up to 200,000 sq ft, plans are also in place to deliver a residential development.
The council is now inviting expressions of interest and aims to put the formal process to tender next year. The deadline for expressions of interest is 20 December.
Council Leader Darren Rodwell said: "We are looking for like-minded partners to help us bring world class film studios to Dagenham.
"It will be an east end epic which will create hundreds of quality jobs and inject millions into the local economy."
Pat Hayes, Managing Director of Be First, said: "This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious organisation to make help make Dagenham famous for films as well as Ford’s.
"We have had interest already but we really want to see the full potential of this site."
