Work has started to build 75 new homes in Hackney, London.

The scheme is being delivered by Mulalley at Bridge House on Homerton High Street. Completion is scheduled in late 2019.

The project includes 28 social homes which will provide a new replacement Council home and meet modern design, space and sustainability standards for existing residents.

Bridge House is part of the Council's 18-site estate regeneration programme which is providing almost 3,000 new homes, more than half of which are for social rent and shared ownership.

Philip Glanville, Mayor of Hackney, said: "With 13,000 households on our housing waiting list and 3,000 families living in temporary accommodation, I'm delighted that these new homes are underway.

"This development shows that Hackney is building and that our regeneration approach works. We're providing both brand new Council homes for those whose current homes aren't up to scratch alongside much needed additional homes for those most in need – all despite the complete absence of Government funding."
