More than 900 new residential units are to be built in Taunton, Somerset.
Plans have have been approved for a new mixed-use scheme on the Staplegrove East site in the town.
Features of the project will include 915 residential units, a primary school, one hectare of employment land, a local centre, and open space including allotments and sports pitches, green infrastructure, landscaping, woodland planting and sustainable drainage systems.
Daniel Weaver, Executive Director of Pegasus Group, said: "The applicants have worked hard with the Local Planning Authority through the promotion of the site, and then the submission of the outline planning application that promotes a high quality mixed-use scheme to deliver one of the strategic sites within Taunton Deane.
"We will work with the Local Authority to deliver this scheme including a much needed spine road over the coming years, with the first phase of residential land for around 300 dwellings expected to be subject to a detailed Reserved Matters application in 2018."
