A new £5.6 million primary school has been opened in Kent.
The Finberry Primary School in Ashford has been built by Morgan Sindall on behalf of Kent County Council.
The opening marks the completion on the first phase of the project. The second phase will see the school transformed from a one-form to a two-form entry facility accommodating 450 pupils.
The overall development included the construction of nine classrooms, a nursery area and a Special Educational Needs (SEN) resource room. The build also features a main reception area, school hall facility and kitchen, while the two-storey building has a steel frame structure and its brickwork is partially clad in vibrant orange and yellow panels.
Morgan Sindall's team has also carried out external landscaping to the site, which included a sports pitch, a multi-use games area, a soft play and habitat area and a covered outdoor learning space.
Stella Scharinger, Headteacher at Finberry Primary School, said: "We are so pleased to be moving into the first phase of this incredible building. This marks another step in the journey of Finberry Primary School to provide outstanding teaching and learning facilities to its pupils and the local community. We are extremely excited to begin the school year in such a great setting and look forward to establishing the School as the thriving Hub of the Finberry community."
Julien Jones, area director at Morgan Sindall, said: "We're very pleased and proud to be celebrating the successful delivery of the new Finberry Primary School."
