Plans have been unveiled for a new £80 million residential scheme in Bicester.
Developers Crest Nicholson and A2 Dominion have revealed proposals to deliver 232 new homes as a continuation of A2 Dominion's existing Elmsbrook Eco-Town development in the North West of the town.
The housing, which will be built over the 25-acre site, will include rain water harvesting systems, electric car charging points, in home digital information systems and solar panels and will be heated by a district heating plant.
Nick Hutchings, Executive Director (Commercial) at A2Dominion, said: "We are looking forward to developing our partnership with Crest Nicholson to create places where sustainable living and design innovation is a high priority. With more and more demands on environmental issues, our collaborative and forward-thinking approach will be key to offering sustainable living and greener futures."
Chris Tinker, Main Board Director at Crest Nicholson, added: "We are excited to be working together with A2 Dominion to deliver this important new community in Bicester. The creation of eco-friendly, energy efficient housing is a key pillar of our commitment to sustainability and the Elmsbrook site has been carefully planned to offer all the benefits of contemporary sustainable living.
"The £80 million joint-venture project will create much needed new homes and community space for the Bicester Region, as well as new jobs to boost the local economy."
Construction for the next phase is due to begin on-site in Spring 2018. The JV scheme is estimated to last four years, with a final completion date of Spring/Summer 2022.
