Barhale has completed work on a £3 million sewer pipe replacement project in Yorkshire
A 1.5km stretch of pipe was replaced under Abbey Road in Kirkstall.
The new sewer will reduce the risk of future pollution incidents, as the old sewer had burst nine times within the last five years.
Andrew McKinley, Yorkshire Water Project Manager said: "We'd like to thank the local community for their patience whilst we carried out this vital sewer replacement scheme which will have a positive impact of reducing the number of road closures in the future."
Work will now begin on a new manhole and sewer connection project to serve the Kirkstall Forge development. The scheme will take three weeks to complete, starting on Monday, 14 August.
