Improvement notices have been served on EDF Energy Nuclear Generation Ltd and Doosan Babcock in relation to work at Hinkley Point B nuclear-licensed site in Somerset.
The Office for Nuclear Regulation's (ONR) orders require improvements in management of work at height at the site after an ongoing investigation into an incident in April 2017 revealed gaps in compliance of legal requirements by both the licensee, EDF, and contractor Doosan Babcock.
The two companies have until 31 January 2018 to comply with the requirements.
ONR said: "ONR will continue its investigation to determine the underlying causes surrounding the failure to meet the required legal standards for work at height. Owing to the ongoing investigation, we will not publicly discuss any further details at this time.
"ONR is satisfied that this issue does not impact nuclear safety."
