Work is to start on a £4.7 million concrete repair scheme at the 'Spaghetti Junction' in Birmingham.
The scheme will involve closing key link roads and there will be no access to the A38(M) from Gravelly Hill or Tyburn Road. Diversions will be in place.
In addition, a full weekend closure of junction 6 of the M6, associated slip roads and the A38(M) into and out of Birmingham, will be in place from Frday, 21 July.
Jessica Kenny, Project Manager from Highways England, said: "This repair work is essential. We fully appreciate people's frustrations and apologise to motorists and residents for the inconvenience.
"We continue to work closely with Birmingham City Council to minimise disruption.
"We'd ask for people's continued patience as the work progresses. Motorists are urged to plan journeys in advance and allow extra time."
