A new nine-storey build-to-rent (BTR) apartment building is to be developed in London.

The scheme will see the new facility built at 262 York Road on the site of a Shell petrol filling station – the last undeveloped site at Battersea Reach.

Working in partnership with clients Angle Property and architects TP Bennett, industry consultancy Meinhardt UK will use it's expertise in modern methods of construction and structural engineering to deliver the project.

The 10,000 sq m building includes a commercial unit at ground floor with office, retail space and a lobby, ground floor car parking and a one-storey partial basement, which will house bike storage, plant and back of house. A further nine units have been added to the development following the demolition of the filling station.

With planning permission now in place, Angle Property intends to tender for a contractor this autumn, with work to start on site in early 2018.

The project will take 18 months to finish, with completion scheduled for mid-2019.
