Work on a £4.5 million primary school refurbishment project in Leeds is now complete.

The scheme at Gledhow Primary School has finished two weeks early and was carried out by Wates Construction.

Designed by architect Halliday Clark, the new school can now accommodate 705 students, up from its previous capacity of 495.

Features included the construction of a new extension for the reception classroom, internal refurbishment of halls, offices, kitchen, toilets, and a new extension for teaching spaces across two floors.

The external landscaping included the development of hard surface play areas, climbing and outdoor activity spaces, soft landscaping and planting. A raised walkway linking the nursery and reception play areas to the main school has also been developed.

Other highlights include an improved and expanded car park with bike storage areas.
