Keller's joint venture (JV) with Finnish infrastructure contractor Kreate Oy has completed the acquisition of drilled piling specialist, Sotkamon Porapaalu Oy.

Teuvo Kulmala, Managing Director of KFS, said the purchase will enable the JV to "offer a broader range of solutions to our customers".

"With our design input and the financial strength of our shareholders, it means we can, more than ever, meet the demands of the largest and most technically-complex projects," he said.

Sotkamon has a track record over the last 20 years in piling, and in large diameter 'down-the-hole hammer' (DTHH) drilling in particular. The company has been particularly active in developing innovative drilling methods and has several associated patents.
