Work has started on a new builders' merchants shop in Leicester.
The Selco Builders Warehouse facility is being delivered by Stepnell at Parker Drive, on the former Forest Park Business Centre site. Completion is scheduled for this October.
Designed by Market Harborough-based architects Corporate Architecture, the single-storey facility will replace a now-demolished factory building which had lain empty for more than 10 years.
The ,252 sq m steel-framed building is being delivered for site owners Trafalgar Global Limited nad will include a show room and hire store, concrete HGV yard and new car park.
Stepnell's operations and commercial manager for Nottingham, Thomas Sewell, said: "We're very excited to be helping create these purpose-built premises for Selco in Leicester. The scheme will create a spacious and modern builders' merchants store in this easily accessible location to the north of the city centre."
The project is one of a number of projects in the Leicester area for Stepnell, including a multimillion pound contract for Zone to create high-quality new student accommodation at West Walk in Leicester city centre. The company also recently delivered a new national headquarters at Grove Park, Enderby, Leicester for My Home Move.
