Linden Homes has teamed with up Volkswagen to deliver a multi-million pound mixed-use development at Battersea, London.
The housebuilder will invest £90 million to deliver a new 20-storey apartment block at 98 York Road. In addition, Volkswagen will contribute £10m towards a modern car showroom, which will occupy the ground three floors of the building.
'The Podium' will feature landscaped communal grounds, as well as a basement car park with 87 spaces and 200 cycle parking spaces on the ground floor. Volkswagen's showroom will increase workshop capacity by 20%, and will also have a coffee shop in-branch and Wi-Fi. The facility is scheduled to open in late 2018.
Claire Gibbins, Sales and Marketing Director at Linden Homes South East, said: "We are delighted to be investing in Battersea with our collection of new homes. Battersea is undergoing a huge transformation and is going to be a great place to live. As well as new homes, the area is going to benefit from new parks, leisure and cultural spaces plus extensions to the transport network including the Northern Line extension, which is due to complete in 2020."
John Sands, brand manager at Lookers Volkswagen Battersea, said: "We're so pleased to be able to invest in Battersea with our fantastic new showroom. Work on our new site is well underway and in the last couple of weeks our old showroom has been demolished."
