Work Continues On New Office Development In Hampshire

A new speculative office building scheme is starting to take shape in Hampshire.

Work on the 'Stirley House' development in Lymington is nearing completion, with developer Westfield Developments expecting the project to be finished in the next few weeks.

The BREEAM 'Very Good' scheme, located between Southampton and Bournemouth, is the first speculative office building to be built along the South Coast since 2007. Features include large open plan offices with secure parking and onsite bicycle/shower facilities.

Roland Gibbins of Westfield Developments said: "We are delighted to be nearing completion on this exciting high quality constructed office building next to Lymington river with attractive views.

"The design ensures bright, airy offices with lots of natural light, as well as making sure the space is flexible and meets tenants' requirements. We've used local businesses where possible during the construction to improve further on the building's environmental credentials.

"Full modern facilities have been included such as multiple lifts, cooling and natural air ventilation systems, high thermal insulation as well as U.V. protected double glazing and 50 parking spaces."

Nella Pang, associate director at property consultancy JLL in Southampton, said; "It is excellent to see a brand new building of such high quality being constructed along the South Coast, which suffers from an acute lack of office space. Whilst we have seen industrial new builds come out of the ground in recent years, it has been some time since a speculative office building has been built."
