More than 2,700 new homes are to be built in West Sussex.

Horsham District Council has approved Liberty Property Trust's plans to build 2,750 new homes, along with a new 46,450 sq m business park, in the region.

In addition, extensive facilities and services will be developed for the scheme, which form part of an overall infrastructure and community benefits package of around £50 million.


Features will include a new school campus comprising a primary and secondary school, as well as provision for early year's education and children with special needs. In addition, there will be a multi-use community centre, shops, health facilities, sport and recreation amenities and public open space.

Geoff Smith, Director of Planning at DMH Stallard, the planning consultancy working on behalf of Liberty, said: "DMH Stallard have been providing planning advice to Liberty Property Trust for a number of years, leading to this site's inclusion in the Horsham District Planning Framework as a mixed-use strategic allocation. This planning decision is a major step forward in this vision becoming a reality."
