Plans have been approved for a new private rental scheme (PRS) in London.
A total of 44 new PRS units will be developed within a five-storey block on the site of the former Nalgo Club in Hornchurch. Work is to start on site in late 2017.
Designed by PCKO, an AHR company, the project will be built through careful use of materials to will connect with the surrounding residential character, as well as the Queen's Theatre and other prominent public historic buildings.
The L-shaped block will be five storeys to the east to create a strong frontage for North Street, reduced to three storeys on the western side. Other features include landscaping to provide a buffer for the development and to establish public/private areas. Green roofs have also been incorporated into the design and will be situated on third and fifth storey flat roofs.
David De Sousa, PCKO Director, said: "Our aim for this scheme has been to enhance the appearance and functionality of the area, whilst creating a development that is integrated with the local neighbourhood. These new apartments will deliver a range of high quality new homes to the London Borough of Havering."
