Balfour Beatty has appointed Barbara Moorhouse as a Non-Executive Director.
With more than 30 years of business and management experience in the private, public and regulated sectors, Ms Moorhouse will take up her new position on 01 June.
She has held a series of strategic, commercial and finance roles with various companies including Group Finance Director at Morgan Sindall plc, Regulatory Director at South West Water and Chief Finance Officer for Kewill Systems plc and Scala Business Solutions NV.
Recently, Ms Moorhouse has been worked as Director General at the Ministry of Justice and the Department for Transport, supporting policy implementation and leading commercial projects. She was also recently appointed Chief Operating Officer at Westminster City Council.
Balfour Beatty Chairman, Philip Aiken, said Ms Moorhouse's appointment will further strengthen the company's board.
"I am delighted that Barbara is joining the Balfour Beatty Board," he said.
"She brings significant and broad experience from relevant sectors and business models, having experience from both the supplier and client side. Coupled with her strong background in the most senior of finance positions in large scale, highly complex organisations, Barbara will further strengthen Balfour Beatty's Board."
