EDF Energy Renewables (EDF ER) has unveiled three new wind farms which can produce enough electricity to power nearly 60,000 homes.

Two of the sites are located in Scotland, with the other in England - Pearie Law in West Lothian, Corriemoillie in the Highlands and Beck Burn near Carlisle, Cumbria.

Pearie Law has a capacity of 19.2MW and produces enough low carbon electricity for around 11,600 homes, while the 47.5MW Corriemoillie wind farm has the capacity to power approximately 28,900 homes.


Elsewhere, the 31MW Beck Burn wind farm can power around 18,800 households.

Overall, EDF ER now owns and operates 696 MW of wind farms across the UK, producing enough electricity for more than 423,000 homes.

EDF Energy Renewables Chief Executive, Matthieu Hue said, "This is great news for us and we are very pleased to have an additional three wind farms to add to our portfolio.

"They will make an important contribution to the supply of low carbon electricity and will benefit the local communities too.
