Lovell To Deliver £53m Housing Development In Lancashire

More than 200 new homes are to be built near Chorley, Lancashire.

Lovell has signed a partnership deal with the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) to deliver the £53 million development at Clayton-le-Woods, on land purchased from the HCA.

A total of 220 high-quality homes will be created (198 homes for open market and 22 affordable starter homes). Features include a mix of 18 two-bedroom and 118 three-bedroom houses as well as 67 four-bedroom and 17 five-bedroom houses. 22 of the two- and three-bedroom houses will be sold through the Government's Starter Homes Initiative.

Across the site, combined footpaths and cycle ways will be provided to create safe routes for cyclists and walkers throughout the development, with Lovell also upgrading the existing public right of way.

The new homes will also have solar panels to reduce carbon emissions, achieving a 19% improvement on current Building Regulations. Around 97% of all construction waste will be diverted from landfill by Lovell through its national War on Waste strategy, recycling and re-using waste materials wherever possible.

Subject to planning consent, Lovell will start building the scheme in late summer 2017, with completion scheduled for 2023.

Lovell regional managing director Nigel Yates says: "We're delighted to be working in partnership with the Homes and Communities Agency to deliver this outstanding development of beautifully designed, much-needed homes for Lancashire.

"Our house styles have been designed with a variety of buyers in mind, from families to young professionals, while our starter homes will help first-time purchasers take their initial step on to the housing ladder."
