Graham Construction has started work to modernise a shopping centre in Peterborough.
The contractor's Interior Fit-Out division is carrying out improvements to Queensgate Shopping Centre.
Features include new lighting, doors and redesigned cladding, ceilings and internal finishes creating a brighter, more modern look for the facility.
Sustainability is a key theme of the scheme, including the introduction of LED lighting to reduce energy consumption/improve light levels, while sustainably sourced and low maintenance materials will also be used.
Interior Fit-out Director, Mark Gibson, said: "Shopping centre projects account for over 25% of our annual workload and we have specialised team who fully understand the challenges these projects present. We are excited about delivering this project at Queensgate Shopping Centre, modernising another premier retail location."
Lendlease (which manages the centre) Head of Retail Asset Management, Guy Thomas, added: "We are excited to commence the refurbishment works at Queensgate, with the customer, sustainability and high quality design at its heart, the works will further boost Queensgate's green credentials, whilst creating a welcoming and engaging retail offering."
Work is expected to be complete in November.
