Kier has been selected to deliver a new £46 million office and laboratory in Cambridge.
The scheme involves designing and building a three-storey laboratory building, along with a four-storey office building, at Cambridge Biomedical Campus. The buildings will be connected by an atrium link and work is scheduled to begin this month.
Around 100,000 sq ft of office and laboratory space will be developed on behalf of Cambridge Medipark Limited. The facilities will be occupied by Abcam once completed in late 2018, allowing the company to combine its three current facilities into one new global headquarters.
Peter Young, Executive Director, Kier, said: "This is another prestigious win for Kier in the biotech sector, building on our sector-leading expertise, as well as reaffirming our track record across Cambridge.
"Kier has extensive experience delivering specialist research facilities, and we are proud to be playing a key role in developing Cambridge Biomedical Campus – a world-renowned centre of clinical and healthcare excellence."
