A major milestone has been reached on a £16 million student accommodation development in Birmingham.
Carillion has reached the 'topping out' stage on its project to build 178 new student bedrooms for the University of Birmingham.
The new Bournbrook facility, which will be built over three blocks of five, six and seven floors, will include a new pavilion for student sports clubs, a café and communal spaces with views over the University campus. Completion is scheduled for this autumn.
Mark Nicholson, Carillion Regional Managing Director said: "We are delighted to have reached this significant milestone in construction. The completion of the new building in September will provide the University with modern, contemporary living for its student population with state-of-the-art facilities all within the campus environment."
