Kier has won a £40 million contract to carry out design work for Highways England.
The five-year design services deal will see the company prepare technical designs and undertake supporting work for capital projects in the South West region, from initial scheme feasibility phase through to as-build phase.
The award builds on Kier's expertise in providing design services under the Asset Delivery Model, which it has been delivering in the East Midlands on Area 7 since July 2016.
In addition, the company has been operating as a Highways England service provider for Area 1 since 2006. The award is the next phase in the new Asset Delivery Model for Highways England following procurements in Area 7, 13 and 14.
Dave Wright, executive director, Kier Highways, said: "This award is testament to the expertise we've provided through our design services work in Area 7 and we are pleased to be continuing to support Highways England in its new approach. Collaboration for both clients and suppliers is at the heart of our business and this new approach allows us to continue our successful relationship with Highways England."
