Mott MacDonald has strengthened its North East team by appointing Phil Redman as director of its Newcastle office.
With 25 years of industry experience, Mr Redman will be responsible for managing the company's business in the North East region.
He previously joined the consultancy in 2002 and has helped develop its technical advisory expertise in the buildings and infrastructure sectors.
Recently, he led the London team's strategic advisory business and supported its diversification into consulting on building information management and facilities management, as well as leading on the major healthcare public-private partnership programme in Turkey.
Mr Redman also oversaw all project and business development activities for the consultancy's Canadian infrastructure finance team.
As well as providing advice to leading technical advisory services, he has managed teams made up of specialist engineers, architects and representatives of organisations in both the public and private sectors.
Speaking on his appointment, Mr Redman said: "Having grown up in the north east and still having strong personal ties to the area, I'm thrilled to be able to bring my knowledge back for the benefit of the region."
